R-code overhaul could boost WA block values, supercharge density
Western Australia’s proposed overhaul of residential design codes could allow an additional 50,000 homeowners to subdivide their land. Housing Minister John Carey announced the reforms, which significantly reduce the zoning requirement from 900 square metres to 700 square metres. The changes aim to boost block values and increase housing density in suburban areas by mid-2027.
