Lloyds Banking Group phases out Halifax brand after 173 years

Lloyds Banking Group announced on Tuesday it will phase out the Halifax brand, ending 173 years of service as a high street bank in the UK. Beginning early 2027, the bank will remove Halifax signs from 190 branches while assuring customers that their sort codes and account numbers will remain unchanged during the transition to Lloyds branding.
