Western Australia is on track to record its deadliest year on the roads since 2008, with over 200 fatalities projected. More than 110 people have died already in 2026, prompting warnings from RAC communications head Rhys Heron about the rise in road death rates. The state now has the highest road death rate per capita in the country.
