Teen dies from tick-induced meat allergy after camping trip in Australia
Jeremy Webb died in June 2022 after eating beef on a camping trip, becoming the first known fatality from tick-induced mammalian meat allergy. The 16-year-old Australian had suffered meat intolerance since age 10, but doctors initially attributed his symptoms to asthma.
