Sudan's paramilitary RSF chief sentenced to death over war crimes
Sudan's Rapid Support Forces leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti, was sentenced to death for war crimes on July 13, 2026. A court in Port Sudan convicted him and 15 others for atrocities in West Darfur, including the 2023 killing of a state governor. The RSF, which controls regions in western Sudan, has not commented on the verdict.
