The Shire of West Arthur purchased a Crown reserve in Darkan for $35,000 to develop additional aged care homes. Chief executive Vin Fordham Lamont highlighted the need for external funding for construction despite the property being at full occupancy with a waiting list. The property, valued at between $125,000 and $175,000, was secured at a 72 percent discount.
