Qantas receives first ultra-long-range A350 for Sydney-London flights
Qantas receives its first ultra-long-range Airbus A350-1000 in Melbourne Friday for Project Sunrise flights between Sydney and London beginning October 2027. The 22-hour non-stop service will carry nearly 3,400 passengers daily in mostly economy seating with 33-inch legroom, slightly more than competitors. The specialized aircraft features an extra 20,000-liter fuel tank to complete the 17,000-kilometer journey.
