Man sentenced to nine years for leaving stepfather's body in bed
Nikola Golem, 51, was sentenced to nine years Friday for manslaughter after leaving his stepfather Tomislav Nemes to die in bed for 14 months in a Gold Coast home. Nemes' decomposing remains were discovered in February 2023 after his daughter drove from Canberra seeking answers. Golem pleaded guilty and will be eligible for parole in August after time served.
