Three Western Australian Kimberley shires received more than $500,000 in state funding Wednesday to reduce bushfire risk through mitigation activities. The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley received $340,456 for 16 treatments, Halls Creek $153,738 for six treatments, and Wyndham East Kimberley $97,959 for 11 treatments. Activities include planned burns and fuel reduction across the region experiencing increased fire activity.
