Could Alzheimer’s be predicted years before symptoms? A test offers new clues
Researchers say a blood test measuring p-tau217 protein can predict Alzheimer's disease five to ten years before symptoms appear in healthy older adults. The test identified a 38 percent risk of cognitive decline over five years among those with very high levels, rising to 78 percent by ten years.
