Cleaner fuel made from waste products to power Brisbane’s planes

Starting Monday, airlines operating through Brisbane and regional Queensland will permanently access sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) made from repurposed cooking oil sourced from Malaysia. The $4.93 million Pinkenba project, partly funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, aims to support Australia's decarbonisation goals, despite SAF's higher cost compared to conventional.
