Bluey speaks Yolŋu Matha for the first time
For the first time, the children's show Bluey has been dubbed into Yolŋu Matha, celebrating NAIDOC Week on June 17, 2026. Five episodes were translated by local residents from north-east Arnhem Land, aiming to connect the series with Indigenous culture. Co-director Sylvia Nulpinditj anticipates a positive reception, saying, 'They'll be freaking out for Bluey and Bingo speaking in language.'.
