Tunnelling to restart on Sydney motorway, two years after sinkholes halt work
Contractors resumed work on a $3.2 billion Sydney motorway on March 1, 2024, after resolving a two-year dispute over sinkhole damage. Roads Minister Jenny Aitchison confirmed that 90 percent of tunneling is complete, and the project is now set for completion by 2029, four years later than initially planned. The government has already spent $2.7 billion on the project.
