Theft continues to rise in Australia's major cities
Theft offences in New South Wales increased, with motorised bicycle theft rising 27 percent to 2,080 incidents in the year ending March 2026. BOCSAR executive director Jackie Fitzgerald noted that the popularity of e-bikes has made them prime targets for theft.
